Fungus on head… Is it possible??

Fungus on head… Is it possible??

12years old Amit was suffering from patchy loss of hair and severe itching in scalp since a year. His mother said that whenever he would scratch the scalp there would be mild flaking and the hair too would get plucked out easily. She said that he contracted this problem after he had got his hair cut from a local barber who never sterilized the scissors he used for cutting hair. His mother took him to a skin specialist and he was diagnosed with Tinea Capitis and was given some lotion and anti-fungal tablets but it did not help much. His mother then took him to a homoeopathic doctor and he was given homoeopathic medicines based on his case study and with 5 months of treatment his complaints were cured.

Tinea Capitis is a fungal infection of the scalp. It is also known as ringworm of the scalp. Tinea Capitis is caused by mould like fungi called as dermatophytes. This fungus grows in warm moist areas for example excessive sweating of the scalp. Tinea Capitis can spread easily. It may involve part or the entire scalp. It is mostly seen in children but could be found in few adults. You can get infected with Tinea Capitis if you come in direct contact with someone suffering of it, use infected combs, hats or shaving blades. The affected areas are bald with small black dots due to broken hair, scaly areas of skin that can be red and inflamed, sometimes there could be pus filled tiny sores because of superadded infection and there is intense itching in the affected area. Tinea Capitis can cause hairloss and lasting scars in the scalp.

Homoeopathy for Tinea Capitis

Homeopathy has good scope in treating Tinea Capitis where conventional medicines have failed. Homeopathic treatment focuses on the patient as a person as well as his pathological condition.

The disease diagnosis is important but in homeopathy, the cause of the disease is not just probed to the level of bacteria or virus. Other factors like mental, emotional, physical stress that could pre-dispose a person to contracting infection are also looked into.

The correct homeopathic remedy tries to correct this disease predisposition. Homeopathy focuses not on just curing the disease but to cure the patient and restore his health.

If disease pathology is not very advanced, homeopathic remedies do give a hope to cure, but even in incurable cases, the quality of life can be greatly improved with homeopathic medicine.

Homeopathic medicines are gentle, safe and have zero side-effects.
