5 simple ways to control hairfall in winter

Hair Fall
September 19, 2018

All the seasons come in with unique reasons for hairloss. Winters are known to dry the skin and the hair shaft too. Prevention is always better than cure.

So here are a few hairfall control solutions for winters:

  1. Prevent Hair Breakage: Hair breakage is common during winter. This can be controlled by using a wide toothed comb instead of a hair brush. Though we perspire less and pass urine more than normal during winters, still we need to have adequate water to maintain the elasticity of hair and prevent it from breaking. Don’t add to its woes by blow drying hair. If you must, use cold blow from a safe distance.

  2. Head Massage: Winter steals the moisture from the scalp. This leads to dandruff build up and weakened hair follicles. To prevent this, massage your scalp with lukewarm coconut or olive oil. Don’t rub the scalp vigorously while massaging as this too would cause hair to break easily. Gently with the help of your finger tips massage the scalp.

  3. Shampoo less Often: Daily shampooing the hair during winters can deplete the scalp of natural oils. You may shampoo hair twice a week. Use a mild shampoo and no matter how much you love hot water baths during winters, keep it lukewarm for the scalp.

  4. Serum to the Rescue: Choose a serum when the hair is partly wet post shampoo. This would help to lock the moisture in your tresses.

  5. Have Carrot Juice: Carrots contain carotenoids. It is rich in Vitamin A and abundant during winters. Have a glass of carrot juice daily. It will help to prevent dryness of the scalp, skin and eyes.

Winters will no more bother your hair from getting dry or frizzy and your scalp will never snow with flaky dandruff if you follow the above mentioned tips.
