Our body is smarter than we all think. It can heal itself when it is in distress — with safe, gentle homeopathic medicinal stimulation.

Physical illnesses can affect our emotional and mental states badly. All illnesses that progress lead to the faulty functioning of our mind, body, and spirit. The expression, “It is all in the mind,” is full of meaning. Let us illustrate. It is not unusual for a doctor in homeopathic medical practice to see extremely ill patients being cheerful, notwithstanding the odds. Likewise, one may often see youngsters with pimples, or acne, showing severe depression with unusual suicidal tendencies.

This shows that there exists a close interrelated relationship at various levels [mind, body, and spirit]. This is what provides homeopathy, which is mind-body medicine, the window of opportunity to assess a person’s health, or illness.

Homeopathy takes into account not merely an individual’s symptoms, but also the mind-body connection. For example, how we react to allergies. A person with severe allergic itching, along with a ‘chilly’ feeling, may [ironically] feel better with icy-cold drinks. Likewise, a person with high fever may not want the blankets on. They are individualistic reactions — this is unique to each individual, or patient.

It’s a fact of life that when we aim to stay healthy, eat good, well-balanced nutritious food, walk regularly, or climb staircases, we are ‘training’ our defence mechanisms to stay healthy, without actually thinking about it. So, when illnesses affect us, our body will not require powerful medicines to correct itself. It requires just a little push. Homeopathy enables us to achieve this stimulus — naturally.

Homeopathy stimulates our body’s healing processes by the use of ‘micro-dosage’ medicines that most closely match the specific manner in which a patient responds to the illness they have.

Let us consider a common example: migraine. Individuals having migraine often present with a range of conflicting symptoms and signs. Their associated symptoms also vary, including the type of pain, its form, its modality, that is, what gives relief, what worsens the condition, and so on. Some migraine individuals may have throbbing pain, along with giddiness [vertigo] and a burning sensation, or feeling, but they may desire warm drinks — a cup of hot coffee!

Homeopathy takes each of them into consideration to select the closest remedy that will, for the most part, match the remedy picture of the homeopathic medicine that can cause the same state in health [homoios = similar; pathos = sickness]. This stimulates the individual’s unique response to the disorder — in this case, migraine with giddiness.

From the homeopathic standpoint, 10-15 different individuals with migraine may need just as many different remedies — to treat the specific, characteristic reaction that their mind-body produces.

In a study conducted and reported in the noted conventional medical journal, Microvascular Research, researchers investigated the “microcirculatory effects” of a homeopathic remedy in patients with giddiness [vertigo]. They used vital microscopy techniques. After 12 weeks of treatment, patients receiving a homeopathic remedy exhibited improvement in all medical and clinical parameters measured. This included increased blood flow that provided tangible long-term relief. Yet another study published in the renowned conventional medical journal, The Lancet, analysed 189 research studies and concluded that the clinical effects of homeopathy could not be simply ascribed to “trust,” or placebo, effects, or a belief that it works.

It may be yet again mentioned that just one or two homeopathic medicines cannot be given to dozens, or hundreds, of individuals with the same diagnosis, such as migraine, with no thought to the different manifestations of the illness in each individual. This is not homeopathy. It is akin to giving a conventional antibiotic to every patient with an acute illness and concluding that conventional medicine failed, because patients did not respond, or recover.
