Signs your child has low immunity

In a study done among 1500 children between the ages 6-14, 13% of them missed exams due to nagging cold or other illnesses. (Source: IMRB) Every time your child falls sick, it has an effect on their studies. It may also be a sign of low immunity

Child immunity develops with age as they grow from infants to toddlers. Your children catch a cold or infection due to the external environmental factors like pollution. However, it’s important to differentiate between episodes of cold happening due to environmental factors and those that occur due to low immunity.

Following signs indicate that your child has a weakened immune system.

Signs in the form of infections:

  • Four or more infections annually, including infections of the skin, eyes, mouth, and genital area.
  • Two or more deep-seated infections such as septicaemia. Also known as blood poisoning, septicaemia happens when a bacterial infection elsewhere in the body, enters the blood stream.
  • Frequent episodes of thrush which is a fungal infection of the mouth.
  • Two or more sinus infections annually.
  • Two or more incidents of pneumonia in a year.

Noticeable signs:

Mostly skin conditions, these are prominent signs.

  • Eczema
  • Swollen lymph nodes
  • Chronic stomach infections such as diarrhoea

Internal signs:

  • Common auto-immune disorders such as type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis or lupus
  • Inflammation or infection in the internal organs like lungs

Reasons for low immune response

  • Genetics: A common reason for depleting immune health is your genes. If you or your family members have a history of low immunity or associated conditions, chances are your children will inherit them too.
  • Malnutrition: Malnourishment is another reason for low immunity. Globally, it’s responsible for 45% of deaths among 5-year olds.  Malnourished children are more susceptible to infection and their level of antibodies production also decreases. (Source: PLOS ONE Journal)
  • Environmental factors: Many childhood diseases due to low immunity such as allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis or asthma have been linked to environmental exposure during prenatal and postnatal development. (Source: WHO).

Signs your child has low immunity

Hypersensitive reactions due to low immunity

According to WHO, hypersensitivity is identified by lowered capacity to fight off the antigens. The most recognised hypersensitive reactions are:

  • Asthma
  • Allergic rhinitis
  • Contact dermatitis
  • Haemolytic disease of the newborn. It’s a condition where the red blood cells break down at a quick pace.

Does homeopathy help your child’s low immunity?

Conventional medicines only treat your child’s symptoms. On the other hand, homeopathic medicines strengthen your child’s immunity from within.

Child immunity differs from those of adults. A virus or infection which can cause mild damage in an adult can cause severe damage in a child. Homeopathic immune boosters are the gentlest solutions. Made from natural substances, they don’t have any side-effects.

Low immunity can bring other problems like sleeplessness and loss of appetite. Homeopathic medicine to increase immunity is nourishing and revives your child’s appetite and sleep schedule as well.

A homeopathic doctor assessed 103 children with an ear infection (Otitis). Homeopathic remedies were provided for every child. 70.7% of those children experienced improvement and were free of any recurrences. (Source: International Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics)
