Homeopathy & High Blood Pressure

Homeopathy & High Blood Pressure

High blood pressure, or hypertension, is called the silent illness, also killer, and rightly so.

This has got nothing to do with a momentary rise in blood pressure caused by anxiety, nervousness, prolonged stress, or after running, or working-out at the gym. What becomes a cause for concern is a rise in resting blood pressure, especially when it shows sustained higher levels and/or persists for a period of time. Besides, one should bear in mind that certain conventional medications, such as birth control pills, steroids, decongestants, and anti-inflammatory medications, can ‘cause’ a hike in your blood pressure levels.

Hypertensive states require specialist medical treatment, along with supplementary management and follow-up care. This includes lifestyle changes, dietary modifications, and regular exercise, along with meditation and other relaxation techniques. It takes months, or years, for tangible results to emerge — but, one would do well to remember that hypertension is a manageable problem.

Homeopathy offers natural, holistic medicines for high blood pressure without side-effects, unlike synthetic or chemical drugs used in conventional medicine. For the most effective outcomes, it is imperative for one to consult a professional homeopathic physician who will evaluate the individual’s lifestyle, stresses, sensitivities, sensibilities, temperament, and overall personality.

Homeopathy takes into consideration the individual’s constitution, or individuality, because no two individuals having high blood pressure present with the same, unique symptoms of the illness. It also lays the greatest emphasis to ease the probable triggers of high blood pressure, such as excess weight, stressful living, lack of exercise, alcoholism, smoking, and a diet rich in processed- or fast-food and/or lacking in dietary fibre [fruits and vegetables].

Homeopathy reckons that it is only when you make a determined effort to change your lifestyle and ‘engineer’ a paradigm shift and embrace healthy living and eating and reducing stress, will you be able to bring about a change for the better — a change that not only reduces your high blood pressure levels, but also transforms every facet of your life and career.

Homeopathy aims at preventing physiological imbalance as a result of high blood pressure just as well. It aims at not only limiting the pathological signs, but also achieving optimal physical, psychological, and emotional well-being. In other words, preventing, treating, and reversing high blood pressure — safely and without side-effects.

In a clinical study, a group of people suffering from mild-to-moderate hypertension were enrolled. The study compared individualised homoeopathic medicines for high blood pressure with placebo [dummy pill]. Successful results were obtained in 82 per cent of individuals taking homoeopathic medicines for high blood pressure compared with 57 per cent for individuals taking placebo.

In another study, a group of people suffering from essential hypertension [high blood pressure with no identifiable cause] were treated either with standard pharmaceutical products, or homeopathic medicines. Pharmaceuticals were found to provide superior blood pressure reducing effects, but homeopathic medicines were found to be the better choice in the management of subjective symptoms of hypertension.
