Asthma disease is a common chronic respiratory condition wherein the bronchial tubes that carry the airflow to and from the lungs become narrow and swollen up. These airways have more mucus in it than required. As a result, the patient will experience shortness of breath, coughing and wheezing as the most common symptoms. Using an inhaler is the most universally accepted remedy out there. But think about the condition where if you don’t have one, especially when you need it the most. Read more.

Experiencing an asthma attack without an inhaler is terrifying but there are things you can do to calm yourself down and get your breathing back under control. After the attack there are a few method one can implement to prevent or at least reduce the asthma attack impact. Here is a layout approach that you can implement.

Note the time: Asthma attacks last for about five to ten minutes, so take a second to look at the clock and note the time. If the breathing pattern is not back to normal within 15 minutes, seek medical attention.

Stay seated or sit down: Sitting upright in a chair is the best position to be in as you try to get your breathing back under control. Lying down or reclining will make it harder for you to breathe.

Avoid tight clothing: Tight clothing may restrict your breathing and loosening it might help you with smoother air passage.

Deep slow breaths: Take deep slow breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth. Do not pay attention to anything else and just focus on breathing. It might be helpful to count to five slowly as you breathe in and then count back down to five as you exhale.

Closing your eyes or focusing your eyes on an image or an object may also help to keep you calm as you work to get your breathing back under control. You might want to focus air into your stomach and then use your stomach muscles to push the air out. This process is called diaphragmatic breathing and it will help you take in deeper breaths. To make sure you are taking in full deep breaths, try placing one hand on your stomach, just below your ribcage and the other on your chest. As you breathe, you will notice that the hand on your chest stays still, while the hand below your ribcage is rising and falling.

Of course, precautions work better when they are in tandem with asthma treatment methods and the best treatment available is homeopathy.

Role of homeopathy

Homeopathy is going to be your best bet against asthma. Homeopathic approach aims at treating the disease by looking for the root cause first and foremost. Asthma treatment in homeopathy believes that asthma is also linked with other medical conditions like allergic rhinitis, virus infections, emotional stress, just to name a few. It is imperative for a homeopath to align the symptoms with a person’s psyche and the way he leads his life on a daily basis. At Dr Batra's™, results of these evaluations are used to correctly determine the right medication for a particular patient. Your asthma can be treated with homeopathy. Book an appointment.

It is said that nearly 10% of the general population worldwide suffers from asthma. Asthma patients often panic in these types of situations and that is not the way to go. Seek professional help, visit a homeopath and implement his methods diligently.
