About Positive Health Awards

Dr. Batra's Positive Health Awards is an event instituted to commemorate the unwavering spirit of individuals who overcame adversities and turned their circumstances into a story for millions to learn from. What distinguishes the heroes we celebrate is that they are specially-abled, heroic individuals who, through their special but not limited abilities, took the world by storm and stood face-front when the waves of losses, and hardships, tried to crash them down.

With an aim to pave the way ahead for our specially-abled heroes and to celebrate their triumphs, Dr Batra's Foundation brought forth the Positive Health Awards. And with the same grit that we had in our hearts 13 years ago, we will be commemorating the undying spirits of these warriors in the 14th year of Positive Health Awards 2022.

People's Choice Nominees 2022

A life that beams to give others the light of hope, is a life worth living. Year after year we have honored Positive Health Awardees who not just demonstrated but lived this very principle.

In the 10th Year of Positive Health Awards, we introduced the People’s Choice Nominee Category, wherein, we recognize warriors whose life has been a constant canvas of hardships but regardless have mastered the art of defying odds and emerged triumphant from adversities. In the People’s Choice Awards Category we honor specially-abled heroes whose stories not only touched the hearts of the jury but also touched the lives of the common man.

Deepa Malik, the first Indian woman to win a Paralympic medal, received Dr Batra's People's Choice Award in 2016. The award was won the following year by Sai Kaustuv Dasgupta, a wheelchair warrior and happiness coach. In 2018, Vikram Agnihotri, the 1st Indian bilateral amputee with a driver's license, received the award. Swarnalatha J., who formed the 'Sarathi' project, Tamil Nadu's first wheelchair-accessible transportation service, won the People's Choice Award 2019 in the 13th edition.
