Advocating Accessible Futures

Vinayana was born into a supportive family in Delhi, who played an instrumental role in nurturing her individuality and resilience. Though cerebral palsy posed several physical challenges, her family never allowed it to dictate the limits of her aspirations. Their encouragement empowered her to express herself creatively, pursue higher education, and eventually become a public figure advocating for a more inclusive society.
Vinayana Khurana, also known as @vinayanakhuranacp, is a powerful voice in the disability rights space—an author, poet, cerebral palsy advocate, and public speaker from Delhi. Born with cerebral palsy (CP), she uses storytelling, poetry, and comic art to challenge ableism and redefine identity. A recipient of the CavinKare Ability Award 2024, Vinayana blends activism with creative expression, proving that disability does not diminish dreams. Her work has been featured by Amazon India, All India Radio, and various youth platforms, making her one of India’s rising voices in disability inclusion and accessible education.
Born with cerebral palsy, Vinayana experienced limited motor coordination, difficulty in movement, and a world that often misunderstood her capabilities. Her school years were marked by alienation, underestimation, and accessibility challenges. After the death of her beloved grandfather, she fell into a deep depression. Writing became her outlet—where she transformed pain into poetry and found her inner voice. A turning point came when she began sharing her experiences through published poems, social media, and public speaking. Her voice, once doubted by many, became her greatest tool for empowerment and transformation—not just for herself, but for the disabled community at large.
