Amala met with an accident. She then lived her life with the daily realities of navigating a wheelchair in a society where accessibility remains an afterthought. From the absence of ramps and wheelchair-friendly public transport to the stigma attached to disability, she has faced multiple barriers that often limit independence and opportunity. Early in her journey, these challenges created frustration and isolation. The turning point came when she began embracing social media as her voice, sharing authentic glimpses of her life, accessible travel experiences, and motivational reflections under the handle @wheelchairofjoy. By doing so, she reframed her struggles into stories of strength, inspiring others while also educating society about inclusion and accessibility. Her openness transformed adversity into advocacy, making her a role model for countless people with disabilities across Puducherry and beyond.
