Health heroes striding the extraordinary to be recognised

Bangalore, Oct 18 (PTI): 'Health Heroes', who have through their positivity and strength, fought and recovered from severe and debilitating diseases and disabilities to lead normal lives will be recognised by being bestowed with a Positive Health Award, Dr Mukesh Batra, founder and CMD of Dr Batra's Positive Health Clinic, said here today. Announcing the Fifth edition of the Positive Health Award instituted by the clinic, he said the awards seek to salute heroes who have fought physical hindrances and given something commendable to society in their own way. "These awards seek to encourage others to believe in themselves and to show the world that nothing is impossible," he said. Calling for entries for the award, he said jury members would comprise Dr Rajiv Bajaj, MD Bajaj Auto, Anu Aga, Director Thermax, Vivek Oberoi, actor, R Balki, Chairman, Lowe Lintas India in Bangalore and Maneka Gandhi, activist. The award ceremonies will be held in Bangalore (November 16), Delhi (November 30) and Mumbai (December16) The award would also honour a medical doctor who is dedicated to a great social cause. The criteria for the award would be the level of disability overcome, achievements made and the way the person has contributed back to the society, he said. Speaking on the occasion, Vivek lauded the concept of the award, which are aimed at being aspirational, inspirational and winning appreciation for those who strode through the extraordinary. Rajiv Bajaj lauded the concept"and hoped it would inspire many more such individuals.
