On the occasion of World Homeopathy Day, Dr Batra’s Healthcare, has pledged to treat 1,00,000 underprivileged people for free. Speaking on the initiative Dr Mukesh Batra, Founder and Chairman, Dr Batra’s Group of Companies said “Healthcare is one of the basic needs of every individual. A disease free India will further strengthen the economy of our country. We appreciate the efforts by the Indian government to roll out the National Health Policy that will provide free drugs , diagnostic and treatment to the underprivileged in India, as our show of support to the government we pledge to  treat 1,00,000 underprivileged  people for free between April 2017 to March 2018.” Telling more about this initiative he said, “In India, the cost of healthcare services has been rising which has made it difficult for some of the sections of society to afford the treatment. In some cases, the cost burden of healthcare services is out of reach even for the middle class. In these conditions, insurance also has its limitations and has not managed to cut through the lower sections of the society. Hence there is need for a more economically viable model that can reach the masses. The programme has been initiated in 117 cities in India.”
