Homeopathy treats joint pain effectively & safely

Forty-five-year-old Ankita presented with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). She was being treated by a rheumatologist, a specialist in joint diseases, for 3-4 years. She reported that, notwithstanding regular treatment, there was no sustained relief. She wanted to take homeopathic treatment, while keeping her rheumatologist informed.

Ankita reported of severe pain in her finger joints. The pain, along with stiffness, she described was “awful when I get up in the morning.” It would get a tad better as the day progressed. Her joint disorder, she also reported, seemed to have affected “my knees as well as the ankles slowly.” We prescribed her the homeopathic remedy, Kalmia Latifolia, based on her overall clinical presentation, symptom details, and the ‘downward’ progression of his rheumatic pains. Following ten months of homeopathic treatment, Ankita reported of significant and clinically confirmable relief from her rheumatic distress.

RA is an autoimmune, chronic, disabling inflammatory disorder. It appears to intensify between age 35 and 55, most notably in women; and, between age 40 and 65 in men. It often affects the small joints of the hands, wrists, knees, ankles and cervical spine. The shoulders, elbows and the hips may be less frequently involved, although the condition can harass the major tissues in the body, including the lymph nodes, bone marrow, liver, spleen, kidneys, digestive system, heart, eyes, muscles, and nerves. Other signs may include sensitivity of parts with loss of weight. RA can also present with rheumatoid nodules (lumps under the skin) and pleural effusion, or fluid in the lungs, while expanding the risk of heart disease by almost 45 per cent. When not suitably treated, RA may lead to bone, cartilage, ligament damage and joint deformity too.

In a study conducted at Glasgow Homeopathic Hospital, UK, two groups of RA patients were treated with conventional aspirin and individualised homeopathic remedies. When the outcomes of the two treatments were compared, analysed, and appraised, at the end of the study, it was confirmed that the group on homeopathic treatment did significantly better than the group given aspirin. What’s more, the group taking homeopathic treatment reported of no side-effects.
