Homeopathy biz to touch Rs 5.5 Cr by 2017

Ahmedabad: Growing preference for natural products and the government's focus on alter-native medicine, is expected to boost the homeopathy business to Rs5,500 crore by next year. While the pharma industry is growing at an average rate of 10%, homeopathy business in India has been growing at an average of 30 % in the last couple of years. "From Rs2,758 crore in 2014, the homeopathy market has grown to Rs4.600 crore this year and it is expected to touch Rs5,500 crore next year" Sandeep Saxena, Group CEO at Dr Batra's said. Quoting findings of a recent survey by IMRB, Saxena said that 50% people in Ahmedabad have switched to homeopathy. in last one year, and that 86% people find homeopathy treatment safer than allopathy.
