I See My Hair Fallen Everywhere…

Hair Fall
June 6, 2017

I am a 26year old female and since last 2 months was losing substantial amount of hair. I was feeling very exhausted without doing much work and have put on 10kgs in last 2months. I was under high stress as I am married since a year and my husband works abroad and left for his work 1 month after our marriage. Loneliness kills me. Seeing my deteriorating condition, I visited my family homoeopathic doctor. She advised me to get a thyroid hormone test and vitamin D3 test done. I was detected with low thyroid and low vitamin D3 too. I was prescribed homoeopathic medicines with diet instructions and methods on how to de-stress. I was asked to repeat the thyroid hormone test before I visited the clinic after a month. I re-checked and it was showing good progress and my hairfall also reduced. I continued with my treatment and every quarterly got my thyroid hormones checked. It was back to normal, I lost the excess weight and I never saw my hair fallen everywhere.

 Hypothyroid and Hair Loss

Research suggests that nearly half of all adults experience thinning of hair by the age of 40. Out of which about 20 percent of individuals with hypothyroid are evidenced to experience hair loss earlier and more quickly than others.

Many patients also do not realize that their hair loss may be triggered by a thyroid disorder. They keep trying to manage their hair loss with different oils, shampoos, parlor therapies or even medications, but with no results. However when they visit a trichologist for their hair problems, based on their history and clinical signs, they are advised investigations, which confirm the suspicion of thyroid problem being the culprit.

Hypothyroidism makes hair dry, brittle, coarse and sparse, on the outer edge of the eyebrows.

Sometimes apart from diffuse hair loss all over the scalp, hypothyroid can also trigger patchy hair loss- alopecia areata. Smooth bald patches may spontaneously appear over the scalp in this condition.

Your trichologist will order a simple blood test, when you present with symptoms that indicate thyroid disease to confirm the diagnosis. When the cause of hair loss due to thyroid disorder is established, the next step is to treat the hormonal imbalance. Once this is done, hairloss automatically comes under control.

Homoeopathy

Homoeopathy helps to produce thyroid hormone naturally by stimulating the immune system and helps in better functioning of the thyroid gland.

Homoeopathic remedies work by stimulating the body’s own healing capacity by encouraging the body to reactivate hormone secretions.

Homeopathy is free from any side-effects. Not only do homoeopathic medicines reduce hairloss but they also protect the body from harmful side-effects that are common with conventional drugs.

Stress causes hormonal disturbances in the body like thyroid problems which are known to cause hairloss and is very effectively treated with homeopathy.

Homoeopathy is a mind-body medicine. Homoeopathy treats not only the physical complaints, but also targets the mind and gently restores mind-body equilibrium- thus it treats the patient as a whole. This makes homoeopathy an excellent solution for hair problems related to the mind such as stress induced massive hair shedding.

Try some de-stressing techniques. Go for a walk, try deep breathing, yoga, meditation, put on some soothing music as it slows heart rate, lowers blood pressure and even decreases levels of stress hormones. Switch of the T.V. / Mobile/ laptop 1 hour before you sleep as uninterrupted computer use has been associated with stress, lost sleep and depression.

Get yourself tested for Iron, Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D3. If you are found to be deficient on any ask your doctor and take necessary supplements.
