Caused by an allergy
Auto Immune - (au-to-im-mune)
A state in which the immune system of the body mistakenly attacks the body’s own cells
Candidiasis - (can-di-di-a-sis )
An infection caused by fungi candida
Chronic - (chron-ic )
Being long-lasting and recurrent in nature; characterized by long standing suffering
Contagious - (con-ta-gious )
Easily diffused or spread as from one person to another
Genetic - (ge-net-ic)
Occurring amongst members of a family - usually by heredity; related to genes
Infectious - (in-fec-tious )
Caused by infection, transmissible from one person to another
Inflammatory - (in-flam-ma-to-ry )
Characterized or caused by inflammation
Leucoplakia - (leu-ko-pla-kia )
A precancerous condition that is seen as small thickened white patches, usually inside the mouth or vulva.
Malignancy - (ma-lig-nan-cy )
Progressive and uncontrolled growth (especially of a tumor)
Plaque - (plaque)
Flat and raised patch on the skin
Relapse - (re-lapse )
Deterioration in health; the return of signs and symptoms of a disease after a patient has been in remission for some time
Remission - (re-mis-sion )
Symptom-free period during the course of a disease
Violaceous - (vi-o-la-ceous )
Resembling violets in color; bluish purple
