Suffering from Chronic Telogen Effluvium, this patient had severe hair loss which was helped with Homeopathy
Jenny Fernandez (name changed) had been noticing hair loss since one year but she was alarmed when the complaints significantly worsened in the last 6 months. The volume of hair on her scalp had reduced greatly and she also had dandruff when she reported to Dr. Batra's for treatment.
She had tried various kinds of shampoos for her hair loss but with no results. On enquiring, it was made known to us that her menses had been irregular for the past one year and she had been diagnosed with anemia 6 months back (hemoglobin = 10). A repeat blood test now showed that her hemoglobin had fallen still low (7.2). Her diet was evaluated and it was found that it lacked in iron (she mostly took vegetarian food).
Jenny had suffered from renal calculi (kidney stones) 6 months back and she had consumed a lot of medicines at that time during her treatment for the same. After this episode, she had noticed gradual worsening of her hair loss. She also had some itchy eruptions on the scalp. She was diagnosed with Chronic Telogen Effluvium based on her history and investigations.
There was no history of any major illness in the past and no family history of any complaints either. She reported being very anxious on account of the hair loss and eagerly wanted to get well soon.

Her evaluation after 3 months showed good results with reduction in the hair loss and no dandruff any more. Her treatment was continued on similar lines which also helped to improve her hemoglobin level over a period of time.
