35-year-old Sheela suffered from deep painful cracks on her palms and soles that worsened during winter. A peculiarity in her case was that when she scratched the affected parts, they would feel cold. Based on this finding and her winter aggravation, she was prescribed a few doses of Petroleum 30, which smoothed her palms and soles, enabling her to resume a normal routine.
Like Sheela, 125 million people worldwide have psoriasis, with over 200,000 new cases being diagnosed each year. A chronic condition affecting the skin and joints, psoriasis is responsible for the loss of 56 million work hours each year.
On the up side, clinical studies on psoriasis treatment in the UK showed that 97% psoriasis patients treated with homeopathy show improvement with no side effects.
Skin management is also an important part of the treatment.
Apply olive oil overnight before washing your hair as it helps to loosen psoriatic scales. Use lip balm (preferably petroleum jelly) to prevent lips from chapping and heels from cracking. Take two spoons of Flax seeds, locally known as alsi, which are a rich source of omega 3 fatty acids, with water in the morning before breakfast and in the evening before dinner. Avoid read meat, as it contains a natural inflammatory substance (Arachidonic acid) which aggravates the inflammation.
International medical protocols consider the disease to be cured if there are no symptoms for five consecutive years.
Homeopathic medicines for psoriasis:
Mezereum 6c- Indicated for psoriasis that worsens in winter.
Kali Ars 6c- Indicated for psoriasis that worsens in summer.
